"We were struggling to find an affordable benefits package to help attract and retain employees for our growing business. Andy from Wits Financial took the time to listen and understand our unique concerns and presented us with several options. As a result, we were able to implement benefits that our employees and accountant both love. Plus, we maintain regular "check-ins" with Andy to ensure we stay compliant."

Scott Maki from Premium Plant Services, Inc.

HR Manager

"Soon after our city set its budget for the next year, I received a letter stating that our medical and dental insurance rates were doubling. This premium was not budgeted for, and it was an incredibly stressful time. We reached out to a neighboring city and asked what they were doing with insurance and were encouraged to call Andy Weitnauer at Wits Financial. We explained our situation, and Andy took the ball and ran with it. He quickly got back to us with several insurance options and was able to answer all our questions. Thanks to Andy, our city was able to find fantastic medical coverage that matched our budget. This was incredible.

Once we selected a plan, Andy took the time to come to our City Hall and explain the coverage to employees. He even stayed afterward to assist employees with filling out the forms correctly. We experienced the most seamless transition to another insurance carrier. If there ever is a question, Andy is quick to answer. His customer service is the absolute best."

Benefits are of great importance to our family of employees, and because of Andy’s care and effort, they view him as a true member of our team."

Frequently Asked Questions

Transparency and communication are essential to any successful relationship. Below are a few questions clients commonly ask. Have a question that’s not listed below? Reach out - we’re always here.

In recent years, there has been a growing pattern of larger benefits brokerage firms acquiring smaller firms. While this can create a broader service offering, bigger brokerage firms tend to have higher overhead, which often translates into more clients per broker (i.e. less time for you).

At Wits Financial, we’re efficient with our overhead, so our brokers have the time and energy to get to know each client and provide a white-glove level of service.

You’ll likely find the same rates across brokers. Carriers that provide health insurance to companies with fewer than 50 employees are legally required to file age-banded rates based on employer location. Similarly, carriers serving organizations with over 50 employees typically release the same proposals to all brokers. This means all brokers typically have access to the same rates.

Ideally, you want to find a broker with a background working with organizations like yours and the capacity to provide the level of service you need. It's also critical to understand which broker will be working with your team on a day-to-day basis. Individual brokers have varying experience and knowledge, so you need to ensure the person assigned to your business is a good fit. The right broker will become your benefits resource. They’ll bring relevant ideas to the table, help you avoid regulatory issues, and won’t be afraid to explain why something won’t work for your business.

Your current insurance premiums for health and other benefits almost always include a broker commission. If you hire Wits Financial, we will receive the commission you’re already paying.

Depending on the size of your organization and the services provided, commissions are typically 3-5% of the premium for medical, 10% for dental and vision, and 15% for life and disability. Commission rates are often set by the carrier but can be customized between individual brokers and clients under certain circumstances.

Our goal is to create long-term relationships by exceeding client expectations. We don't believe in locking clients into lengthy contracts. If you are ever not completely satisfied with our service, you are welcome to part ways with our team. Your satisfaction matters to us!
